VR tactical team-based shooter with eye-tracking-enabled UI, built in Unreal Engine 5.
The Challenge
Traditional UI navigation doesn't work in VR—simulating a mouse cursor with eye movement proved uncomfortable. We had to throw out everything we knew about how players navigate a game UI and re-think the paradigm of human-computer interaction.
What I Did
- Owned metagame design, progression systems, and live-ops planning
- Led UX design and implementation in Unreal 5 (UMG and Blueprints)
- Pioneered a contextual action system where PS5 Sense Controllers respond to player gaze direction
- Developed novel eye-tracking navigation paradigms through iterative design and user testing
Impact
Developed eye-tracking-led UI navigation that reimagined human-computer interaction for VR. The system enables intuitive, comfortable navigation that feels native to the medium.
